T-114 This open style series requires protection from dust, dirt, water and foreign matter, therefore a machined housing or oil bath is recommended. The balls are retained between two hardened steel races, banded together by a mild steel or brass sleeve on the inside diameter. When preloaded and installed so as to be held by the outside diameter B the "V" grooved raceways enable this series to carry radial loads equal to 25% of its thrust load capacity while decreasing the amount of friction created by a full contact round groove design. The banded style typically allows more balls per bearing , thus providing greater thrust capacity than a 3 piece retained style bearing of similar dimensions.
Auburn Enclosed Style T-114 Ball Thrust Bearing is recommended for use in enclosed protected locations, inside the machine housing or where it is desired to operate it in an oil bath. It is self contained, the two races and balls being held together as a unit by the inside sleeve.
When preloaded and installed so as to be held by the outside diameter "B" this bearing will carry a radial load equal to 25% of its thrust load capacity.

Mounting Instructions
Generally installed to be centered by the rotating shaft through bore A . The race having the inside sleeve attached to it should rotate with the shaft. The race which is loose from the inside sleeve and having outside diameter B will seat against a fixed part of the machine and remain stationary. If installed in a recess, a clearance of 1/8" or more should be left around the outside diameter B and B' , in case the shaft wears in its journal bearings. If this should happen the clearance you allowed on the outside diameter will prevent the balls from wedging.
